Sprout,
You are 10 months old! This month was monumental in that you learned to crawl. While not entirely graceful quite yet, you are going places! You are in to everything! You have no problem retrieving your toys, getting into drawers, and maneuvering around the house. You even follow me from room- to- room and make a practice of chasing your brother and kitty around, too.
For most of your young life, you have joined Daddy in the shower to bathe. Recently, however, we’ve started putting you in the bath (typically with your brother). You LOVE it! I’ve never seen such sheer joy like that which you display when you’re splashing it is so much fun to watch! Speaking of joy, your face absolutely lights up now when I come to your class in the afternoon to retrieve you. While I have no doubt that you love your teachers and friends, you seem so happy to see me each day, which makes my heart soar. After completing a particular giggle, you start waving and blowing kisses in my direction.
Outside of school, your favorite activities right now include going for rides in your stroller, playing with cars, and eating. My goodness how you love to eat! You will eat almost anything and seem to have a particular affection for cheese, avocado, and pasta. You are not the biggest fan of bananas though. You also really love to sing. Your brother has a guitar that he frequently plays. You often stop what you’re doing and watch him with awe. You typically applaud at the conclusion of every song, too.
I remain captivated by how curious you are. You are interested in learning how everything works. You often flip toys over to see how they work. Recently, you discovered the mighty power of the garage door opener, too. At times, you enjoy being read to. Your favorite book seems to be ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ although you like ‘Polar Bear, Polar Bear’, too.
Your Daddy would like me to document that while you’re an incredible eater, no one else poops quite as well as you do, either. Apparently, this is a very manly thing that he wants noted. You are pretty tough though. Your brother often forgets to be gentle with you and you’re a trooper. You’re also freakishly strong, too. Your toughness, however, is balanced out by the most amazing smile. Like your Daddy and your brother, you have the ability to win over a room with one look. People are drawn to you and your spirit. Everyone instinctively feels what I’ve always known: You are amazing.
Love,
Mama
